Hi, I’m Julie and I took up golf around 7 years ago after my husband and I gave up sea kayaking as our primary sport and way to explore and have great adventures.
Why golf? Well primarily because my beloved husband, Scott, loves golf, is good at golf and works in the golf world as a course superintendent (head greenkeeper). It just seemed logical. Secondly one of my besties is a golf pro and I’d had some fun caddying for her, and she made it look soooo easy.
As it turns out it’s a sport not for the fainthearted and after 7 years, I’m still a complete novice but addicted and determined.
It has turned out to be the perfect travelling companion for us as a couple and we never go on holiday without our clubs and a list of courses to play in each destination along with a list of eateries to experience.
Over the year’s we’ve golfed in Cambodia, Fiji, USA, France, Italy, Malta & Australia
Scott has been a Green Keeper all his working life so travelling to Golf Courses with him is really interesting. He see’s things from a different perspective and sometimes that helps. Scott plays off a WHC of 6.5.
In my day job I’m the Head of Sales for a Healthcare Company. I write this travel blog. I also run an annual Ladies Tournament, the Food, Fashion & Lifestyle Classic and am the current President of our Golf Club. In a previous life I owned Restaurants. I play off a WHC of 21.5.
Hopefully you find this blog entertaining and full of hints for how to find and enjoy some awesome golfing and food destinations.
